    Morning! Got to sleep in because the kid doesn't have to go to school today due to the AP test. He's actually still asleep. He was up late studying. I really hope when he wakes up he reports not feeling sick.

    That's cool, but unfortunately my brain hates
    ambiguous, pointless, meaningless survey questions.

    I've seen (and returned) too many surveys that are as
    seemingly meaningless as this contrived made-up example:

    Imagine that you are shopping in a store.
    Your shopping list reminds you to buy some
    liquid dish-washing soap. Your usual brand
    is out-of-stock, but another familiar brand
    of lemon-scented dish soap is now on sale
    for a 25% discount off its regular price.

    Next, please watch this completely irrelevant
    5-minute video of a toy boat sailing in a pond. ...

    ... ... ... ... ... [5 minutes later]...

    Were you able to watch the video?
    [ â–ª ] Yes

    Now, thinking about the aforementioned
    dish soap, please answer the following
    questions. On a scale of one to ten:

    How popular is this brand of dish soap?
    How high is the quality of this dish soap?
    How effectively does this soap clean dishes?
    How powerful is this dish soap?
    How gentle is this dish soap?
    How environmentally friendly is this dish soap?
    How desirable is this dish soap?

    Since the given description was intentionally
    insufficient to inform any meaningful responses,
    my responses will be essentially meaningless.

    Fake example, but illustrative.
    I've returned hundreds of surveys because I hate the questions.

    "Can you guess the hypothesis of our research?" —
    lol nope, and maybe that's part of my problem:
    I don't understand the rationale behind this type of research.
    If I had some basic understanding of the scientific purposes
    of such surveys, maybe I wouldn't rage-return so many of them. (-;

    TV hasn't always tracked approvals, so it was on users to manually update them. In cases where the data isn't 100% known I've always leaned towards leaving it unmarked so I wasn't creating incorrect data :flail: better to leave something marked as 'unknown' [pending] then inadvertently mark a rejected hit as approved
