Due to my having to get an in-home "care giver" to help me while my BFF is gone to work during the day since coming home from the hospital, it became quite apparent that the wires I had running across the hallway were in quite sad shape due to excessive traffic running across them (i.e. wheelchair) and was resulting in a huge lack of enhancement of my ethernet connectivity ... Soooooo ....

New 8 port 1 Gigabyte Switch, and 75' of Flat Cat6 Cable later, I am up and running with cable that runs along the ceiling level that is almost "transparent" (white against white ceiling/walls) coming from the Cable modem in my back office out to my "living room office extention". Plug in 10 ft cord to laptop, 10 ft cord to Roku and 14 ft cord in reserve for a "guest" or BFF and 5 extra ports in reserve in case I go nutso on some special project like a good ol' fashion "Lan Party" hehehehehe ...

Fun stuff and MAN oh MAN does this thing "FLY" along the internet highway of life now! Bring on the BATCHES!!!!

 

I bet you can't wait for the day that wireless tech (weefee I think it's called) becomes accessible to the general consumer.
