I optimistically thought they were gone. I was wrong. I hadn't heard them for a couple weeks...but the other night I heard the slither and "the squeal". :emoji_cry:

5 rejections this past month for going too fast on different surveys.

2 of them had people with faster completions (that were approved), bunch of crap.

Ok. First and foremost - don't panic. But let me be clear - if you see a mouse - you probably have a shit ton. Scores of them marching in unison with only the taste of human flesh driving their existence. Just clear your mind, and don't let panic, fear, or any sort of displeasure ruin the peaceful embrace of death that your new furry friends will bring.

Make sure you remove food. You got a bunch of soup and sandwiches scattered about? Mice, like us, love sandwiches and soup.

Traps. Traps are neat. Snap traps are humane-ish. Kills em quick. Peanut butter is a good way to lure them in. You can also use chocolate chips, dental floss, sandwiches, or soup. Peanut butter works best. Peanut butter sandwiches would probably do better.

Sticky traps suck. The sticky glue traps are really good at catching mice - but they suffer and slowly die over the course of days unless you play god and administer the sweet embrace of death - as they would for you. And trust me - It'll hurt you more than it hurts them.

You can also make a no-kill trap out of crap you have at home like old bubble gum wrappers, straws, antique tractors, or an arsenal of firearms and homemade bombs.

You need to stop them from continuing coming in. Mice have made your home - their home. And once you die, they will take your home and possessions through eminent domain or whatever - so long as they pay your taxes. Go outside and circle your house. Look for obvious places they can get in - an open cellar door. A shitty old window well. A dryer vent. They say they can squeeze into a hole the size of a dime or something. Dunno. Find holes and just jam them up with stuff. Doesn't matter what you use. Spray foam, steel wool, bubble gum wrappers, antique tractors, arsenal of firearms and homemade bombs, or even sandwiches and soup.

Stay vigilant. Keep trapping them. Keep securing entry points. Don't give up.

Also get a cat. Mice suck.

Sticky traps are not a good choice. I made the mistake of letting an exterminator leave one under my stove a couple of years ago. That was how I discovered that rats can scream...loud, prolonged, high pitched, shrieking screams. The rat got away. (Thank God) There were just little tufts of rat fur stuck in the glue when I finally got to it. It took two hours after that to coax my dog out of the closet.
