Fences don't say anything more than I need some privacy or barrier for kids running around safely, dogs, throwing parties, gardening, etc. Depending on the area, it's a security measure as well. The "fuck off" comes from your general attitude towards your neighbor, not from a fence.

 

I'm not sure when I hit this point in my life, but Albertsons had a coupon for 10 bucks off 2 50 dollar visa giftcards, so I went out and got 100 bucks of dem giftcards for 90 bucks and I'm just gonna buy groceries with them now.

Had a German Sheppard, George, when I was little kid and we had a 5 foot wall around our yard. He kept getting out, so my dad had someone come add three feet to the whole wall. My dad was out front paying the guy and George jumped up and stood on the wall just looking at them. Always thought that was funny. Sometimes you just can't keep a dog from getting out.

 

I missed that @leafs4_cup was making my point.

 

I would like to accomplish both with my fence.

The real fuck off comes from leaving your dogs outside to bark all god damn day because you can't be bothered to have inside dogs. Also, bring your fucking bird inside at night lady. I'm tired of hearing that thing scream at 5 in the morning!

 

No doubt, but I've lived in a variety of places at this point. Plenty convey a clear fuck off to their neighbors without spending $5-$20k on a fence and plenty who like their neighbors spend money on fences for a variety of reasons that have zero to do with their not liking their neighbors.

 

My dog is "spoiled" and I "do too much" for him because he's an inside dog that gets frozen Kong treats and occasionally ice cubes put in his water when it's hot. Around here, it's considered perfectly normal and acceptable to leave your dog outside 24/7, rain, snow, and shine, and only interact with it in it's tiny kennel when it's feeding time. I really do wonder why some people get dogs.

 

King Skeeter cannot be stopped by mere 5 foot fences.

That ding dong can't fight his way out of the closet some days, but he vaulted the airport fence to get to a bbq down the road once and we're still not sure how.

 

Do them all while you can. An exclusion qual is likely incoming.

 

I miss having a big yard with a doggy door to the garage/laundry room, because Skeet is accident prone, but the neighbor dogs are ALWAYS out and they ALWAYS bark at him so I can't leave him out when I'm out of the house or he cries the whole time cause he gets stressed about the doggos barking and I feel guilty when he howls back. You'd think they'd get used to him but noooooo.

Can't wait till we find a house.
