Meanwhile I'm driving my wife berserk because I decided I wanted to be able to actually cook an acceptable French style omelette and my cooking skills could best be described as "rudimentary".

In fairness, I can handle the basics and make sure nobody starves, but my output is definitely lacking in presentation style. Now I'm agonizing over the precision of this deceptively simple breakfast and she has to put up with me recounting my struggles at the end of the week.
