    I don't have first hand knowledge of this, buuuuuut...it would make 1000% sense. Floating point numbers are imprecise, and depending on the size of the float you loose decimal precision...so if you have a big enough non decimal portion, you can just wipe out all the space in the field and screw up the cents with rounding errors

    TL;DR; don't use floating point numbers if you absolutely, 100% need to have accurate numbers. It's usually good enough, but not if you're dealing with money.
