Okay thanks. I am just anxious about build one on my own for the first time since like 2003. I plan to scour YT channels like Linus Tech tips, and reddit/Buildapc for the best parts I can get for under $1000

 

just compare benchmarks and prices, thats all you gotta do

 

I'm glad I followed your advice and waited. Our balances were zeroed out Need to upgrade my computer though so I'm probably going to build my first PC since I was a kid. I pretty much know all of the best hardware I want to use. I just have to put the list together.

 

Right now is a really good time to build PCs and if @Ten and @ChrisTurk was able to build a PC with ryzen 3000 you will be able to as well.

It is going to be something like a ryzen 5 3600, 16GB of DDR4, x570 motherboard to avoid bullshit issues), AMD 5700 or 5700 XT along with the case and power supply ofc but that should be under $1000 and will have much better single core performance than that PC and leaps and bounds better GPU performance.

One thing to note for the AMD GPUs is that you shouldn't get the reference blower as it is garbage. Actually you prob want the sapphire pulse card for either if you can find it in stock but the stuff is hot so it is hard to get one.

 

oh and you may as well grab a 1TB NVME SSD as you can get one for like $100 and it is a night and day difference for a PC over a HDD.

I haven't looked at the numbers. Is there a big difference between a sata SSD and a NVME m.2?

Actual NVME uses the full PCI bandwidth so it is a lot faster while SATA SSDs are limited by sata. Some old low end motherboards have NVME ports that are actually just sata speed limited but you can check to see what each board has.

or just get a 2070 super that will actually be in stock

The 2070 super is good and works but is also more expensive. It depends on how strict his $1000 budget is.
