I found my response in my spam folder yesterday, a day after they sent it.

 

What did they say? I’ve been checking my spam folder constantly, but nothing there.

 

This is the email I received today:

After reviewing your account, we were unable to verify the information that you provided during account registration.
At this point, your account registration has been suspended. We request that you open a new account using a different email address than the email address you originally used. For security reasons, your original email address cannot be used to reopen an Amazon Payments account.
Please use the below link to open a new Amazon Payments account, and select “I am a new customer”:

When I click that link they provided, it takes me to an error message saying: “Your Amazon Payments account could not be created. Unfortunately, you are not eligible for an Amazon Payments account.”

 

You wouldn't want to do that anyhow, and lose your MTurk account history and quals. I wonder if real people write any of these responses.

 

"not eligible" I wonder if every person having this problem can see this same phrasing at that link? because we both can, but when I saw it was the first I had heard of it.

 

Nothing helpful, the same as everyone else has posted over the last couple of days. It's a holiday weekend so I haven't tried to do anything further than the emails I sent on Wed. Hopefully Turkopticon can work it out, but even that won't happen until after the holiday.

 

Yup, it's bringing some long silent Turkin' vets out of the woodwork. Suspended here as well, out of nowhere. Same issues as everyone states.

Hi everyone, I'm still able to turk (at the moment anyway) and I've been doing this for over 10 years...but saw some mentions of Cloudconnect on here, is it safe and do you make any money on it?

 

yes, I've been on it since it was in beta, Spring of 2022. It's like turk though where you have to build a reputation (quality score) before you get a lot. I make a lot on Prolific though (been on there for 5 years).

 

Thanks, I do Prolific as well, I just hadn't heard of Cloudconnect before. I don't really use turk forums that much, I used to be on Mturkforum, but it's been dead for awhile on there and now it's not even working. I forgot I had an account here until I was reading about the suspensions.

 

Well, just got hit with a suspension too, same thing as everybody else.

 

The folks at CloudConnect have been known by many names; Prime Research Solutions LLC, aka Turkprime aka CloudResearch aka Connect. If you feel safe dealing with an outfit that felt the need to change their name so many times, go for it!

Wow, I am shocked at all the suspensions. I am so sorry for all you guys, especially if it's your main income like me.

 

I am still able to work but - I don't know if it's coincidental or not, but a card I have used to pay for goods on Amazon was just used 3 times from an online company in the UK. I was notified of unusual activity by the cards fraud system and stopped authorization and cancelled the card.

 

I'm sorry for the circumstances under which it's happened, but I'll say what a few others have said: it's nice to see some familiar faces from turking days past.

 

have you asked amazon what is going on?

 

I'd have to think about what I would say before I do that. Right now I'm busy changing passwords, cancelling and ordering new cards, freezing credit, etc.

 

Mine was suspended too. Thought it was just me. Glad I'm not the only one!
