A little tidbit about me - my fears include : interacting with strangers, interacting with people I know, dirt, heights, danger noodles, mountain lions, getting lost by myself, heat, anything that feels remotely dangerous, and did I mention snakes? Well, since 3/7, I've walked, hiked, and jazzercised my way to 1007 miles of stepparoos. OVER A THOUSAND MILES SINCE MARCH, YOU GUYS! I'm still terrified of all those things, but now I'm afraid of those things outside! Spoiler: Sappy facts about hiking My best day: 17.17 miles My best month: May- 235.28 miles Animals I've encountered: Tortoises, rattlesnakes, Condors, Black Bears, bobcats, wild pigs, road runners, california quail, jackrabbits, countless deer, cows, lizards, hawks, a million crows, seals, hordes of tiny crabs, and let's face it- a mountain lion has surely seen me by now. Places I've hiked : Sequioa, the "killer Kern" river, Joshua Tree, Pismo Beach, Pirate's Cove, Vasquez Rocks, the Mojave desert, Lake Isabella, Bird Island (yasss), Marin Headlands, Lands End, countless sections of the PCT, and I've been every which way I can find in the local Mountains and I still have a thousand more trails, peaks, and valleys to find. Times I've been lost and had a mild meltdown : Countless Shout out to @gurlondrums for starting @Fit Friends , @lefty for reminding me I'm viciously competitive, @turks24 for occasionally besting me on the leaderboard, @margarita for making me ask myself how anyone could do that many steps in the first place, and @TurkedOut for simultaneously smack talking me and assuring me, "it totally won't hurt anymore in a couple weeks! You'll stop being so tired!" (matt helped too) I made a fun video of all the places I've hiked around (and sometimes Matt is even so helpful by dirtbiking past me while I suffer up a trail) so that I can share what 1000 miles looks like with you lovely forum goers: I can't wait to see what another thousand miles looks like!
