The ladies of mTurk are, I think, more wholesome than average.
The unwholesome ones are already making bank working as cam girls, and wouldn't worry about surveys, requesters, PREs, etc. after having a taste of easy money.

Whoa, you started 4 years ago? I started 3 years ago (oct 7th wooo) and when I was new you seemed like you had been around for years on MTF already lol. But that's probably cause I was a newbie and everyone else that was already established were all longtime pros to me

Probably helped that I joined a forum before I even began turking, thankfully skipping the reddit step entirely.

I wish I could be on enough to make enough. But I'm a homeschooling mom with a special needs kid - currently in a hospital two hours away - with just too much going on. I turk for money to help pay off a LOT of student loan debt between my husband and I, with the goal of having all debt paid off and be buying land and building a house in 5 years or less. Preferably less. So even a $5 day is good for me. But if I do get on to turk on any given day, I have a goal of $10. It doesn't sound like much, and most of the time it isn't, but some days, just seeing that I have the goal makes me do some surveys or batches that I maybe wouldn't to give incentive to stay rather than go do something else. I keep a $50 weekly goal because $200 a month is what I calculated as my extra payments when I did them. Some weeks I meet that in a day. Some weeks I just don't make it at all. Some weeks defy explanation, like me having a PE of $150 for the week right now when I was at the hospital or driving huge chunks of Sunday and Monday and have barely been working today.

I don't know. We all do what we do. I think I have a decent workflow, but really, it's hard to keep up with the new "it" requesters and scripts and methods and updates etc that influence us so much. I just hate getting treated like a dumb ass when I come in after a rough night at the hospit and just wanna make a few bucks. But generally, I love TH. Sometimes I turn on the forum to attempt to at least keep up with some things through the day even when there's no way I'm able to turk.

So there my tldr.

I felt the same way about everyone as well. I had just missed the TOTW train. It was the major topic on mtf. People were making serious bucks daily.

 

I hope you didn't take my post as calling anyone dumb based on their PE/goals, it was purely like 90% joking and just 10% pointing out most folks end up getting a little competitive at the high end lol.

 

I applaud you for trying to work with all the stuff you have to deal with. Sorry if people treat you like a dumb ass and <<hugs>> and for you because you deserve it for being a strong woman!

 

Not at all! I loved it! It's some of the high end asshat-ery that gets me sometimes. You've been awesome. But really,, that list is fairly accurate most of the time. I just hate getting lumped in with the redditors and gimmes when that's not my game. Not by you. Maybe just by myself. I don't know. Ignore me. It's been a long day.
