imho you could count on maybe $5 a day on prolific. It's worth doing but it's not mturk.

I went to DMs with this. I very rarely break $2/day, BUT, it's good savings account money if you watch the exchange market. Back when COVID hit the GBP and USD were neck and neck. I held off until it went 1-1.30 on £110.

It's savings account money, or once/month beer money.

 

$50 in the last three days....how did I go back in time?

 

$/hr are higher on Prolific, but there's usually nothing to do. At MTurk, you might not always get the rate you're after but at least there's a way to keep the account moving upward.

 

There are times its poppin...and times its not. stay logged in and check

Keep the page open in a dif tab and just check every now and then. They'll pop up but go pretty quick

 

Keep at it and you're monies will go up. $2 a day is just a starting point. Even in covid screwed up times I can make more. You will be able to as well. Just keep leering.

And use Prolific Assistant.

The hourly is actually worse than MTurk, even adjusting for conversion rates, but it's money and close to US minimum wage. Most of their stuff is 2-20 minute stuff and if it's severely underpaid Prolific will reach out to the requester and ask them to make up the difference. I've gotten random bonuses from requesters months prior. They at least try to be somewhat fair, even if they're underpaying.
