I know in almost all states, the police are VERY strict when it comes to commercial vehicles and distracted driving. Thats pretty much instant grounds for a CDL suspension or revocation.

 

Yeah I got banned from MTF for outing Monica's boyfriend as an mturk botter, and then I got banned from MTG after 6 months of inactivity by Zingy right around the time they were banning all active mtf members when they were considering switching to private forum mode (to block non-active mtg'ers from content they regarded as advanced at the time)

Like a blue tooth while driving? Some places you can get ticketed for it believe it or not. Besides, talking through a little thing in your ear is a lot different from doing work on a computer or anything while driving. Even if it's a long stretch of motonony, being that distracted to try and turk could still be a very bad, potentially even deadly, distraction for you and even others who have the misfortune of happening to pass you by.

I believe there is the outlash because while you may deem that safe for yourself or be willing to take the risk yourself, if something happens it won't always be just yourself involved.

 

What do I care? It is an incredibly irresponsible vision...and it attempts to simplify the work that many very dedicated men and women do every day and take incredibly seriously. Anyone that thinks that it is an easy and laid back lifestyle should never get behind the wheel of a truck. So, I am thankful that it is only a vision you have and not an actual ambition.

I agree. There is a huge difference between just mentally focusing on a conversation vs your eyes focused on something else.

 

We once ran on some wannabe gangbangers from the city, who after wrapping their car around a tree [and I mean, it was mangled. Jaws needed and all] swore they were trying to avoid hitting the purple buffalo in the road. Granted, there was a buffalo ranch about 5 miles up the road, but none had gotten out, and none were purple.

And obviously, ETOH was involved.
