I read a sci fi post apocalypse story once that used fast growing bamboo as a punishment. People would be tied down on a bamboo field and, well...it didn't work out so well for them.

Ever since reading that story (wish I could remember it, it was a great story, even if that part made me cringe and want to skip that part of the story, lol) I don't look at bamboo the same way. I see sinister potential.

 

But slapping is funnier!
