My kid just asked, "Mom, What's a lap dance?" (I'm watching 48 Hours, he heard it there.)

I explained it pretty matter of fact-ly. Then asked, "Doesn't it weird you out when you ask your mom what something is and I have to give explanations like that?"

Him: "Yes. And I'm always ready for you to stop talking after five seconds. BUT YOU NEVER DO!"

Exactly. He's googled things before and deeply regretted it. We discussed that idea and he said he would rather ask me and be mortified than see what he has seen on the Internet on accident. Plus, he says after overhearing kids at school talk it's clear they have no idea wtf they are talking about so he is never asking friends at school.
