I'm making soft pretzels for the first time tonight. I'm really pleased with my dough thus far, but I still have to do the baking soda dunk.

 

I was living with 3 other dudes in a college town (this was actually... winter break between grad school semesters? I think?) and tending bar. The "rule" of the house was that if you were going to go on a bender, you had to wear "the shirt" --- which was a pink beater that said "It's Okay.... I'm On A Bender". You had to wear it 24/7 until the bender was over. The idea here was that you'd disgust yourself so much that it'd kind of snap you out of it.
