There was a lot of backstory, and I don't think Nathan really knew what he was jumping into initially. You can't really blame him all the much for trying to keep the user base. There was a lot of uncertainty at the time. FWIW, mtg had significantly larger/more informative help threads at the time than any other forum.

I think the other part is I have a bad sinus infection, so sometimes when it's like "compare banana to tomato" I'm like "yeah, not while my head is on fire".

Honestly.. He has to for SEO purposes. That many links proclaiming his website as dead will (if it hasn't already) affect how his site is displayed on Google/Bing/etc. Its much different than a one off link/reference to another resource.

FWIW, I'm fine with cracking jokes / whatever, the entire situation is right out of a bad (..and kind of boring) sitcom, but I don't blame him for polishing up his new toy and certainly wouldn't want anyone to actually nag the dude about it. Which I don't think anyone is actually doing, looks like all poor taste humor to me.. which is what we expect out of @Hummingbirdee haha.
