Hi folks, We've been getting a number of emails from workers asking what their score was on our qualifier. Don't you get an email telling you that? Thanks The Cloud Labor team
No, the score wasn't sent when (your) qual was granted. It's easy enough to see when the HITs are up though. purely conjecture, hopefully CT is around to correct. but I think if you assign quals in the api, emails aren't sent by default.
I did not get an email about the qualification. I found my score when I saw the hits up. I knew to look because I got the bonus email.
I assigned the quals by hand in the requester Web UI this time around, so it's not an API thing. But once we get our API scripts fixed (firewall issues) we can explicitly email everyone when they get assigned a qualifier score. Yes, we will be doing more quals (and HITs) in the near future, but not this week.
there should be a way to have it automatically sent when you assign the qual, but I wouldn't be able to tell you how
SendNotification defaults to true in the API and is supposed to also happen when using the Web UI. I wonder if they are getting filtered as spam.
The email would come from Amazon so except in a few cases that's probably not it. Anyone who does this regularly would have made sure Amazon's emails aren't going to spam.
the vast, vast majority of qualifications assigned to workers are administrative in nature and wouldn't serve any purpose to be communicated to the worker. for example which a requester has setup so a worker only does 1 of a specific HIT. hopefully @ChrisTurk will be able to explain it, because I don't know how you would ensure emails get sent on your end. I would like to know too, actually. you are right that it claims to default to yes, so I wouldn't know why emails aren't going through. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSMech...ssociateQualificationWithWorkerOperation.html
I'm not sure where you read this, but in my 2-3 yrs of using the platform the web ui has never sent emails. I THINK it sends (or used to send) emails for qualification revokes, but its never sent them for grants IME. They do change things occasionally though & I tend to not use the web ui so this info could be out of date / totally incorrect. There are a lot of quirks to the web ui, and they've been redoing parts of it recently so things are apt to change.
Thanks, I must have been mistaken about the default for the Web UI. We will be using the API for our subsequent batches (which will be mid-February).
