They rejected 2 of my recent hits, stating they were duplicates. I don't understand how, when they post the jobs in batches and you are only allowed to attempt a task once. The jobs that I completed were posted on different days with different job numbers. I think that they messed up in how they posted the tasks and putting the responsibility on me. I sent them messages and disputed the rejection but I have never been able to get them to respond to any questions that I have sent them in the past, so I don't have a lot of confidence that they will respond now. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I might go about getting in contact with them, perhaps outside of Mturk?
Apparently, this issue was not limited to just me. There is a whole group of people on reddit, who are experiencing the same thing. It looks like they have mass rejected a whole lot of people for duplicate submissions. I think that there is cause for us to ban together to somehow fight this. I am seeking thoughts and suggestions.
I had the exact same thing happen. I have messaged them no less than 5 times since then (it happened on May 4). They refuse to respond at all. I've been on Mturk for a long, long time and have done many of their hits...going back to their Movie Enquirer hits. They have always been a stellar requester...until now. This is what I sent them this morning, "I had no idea how many workers you've screwed over. I hope that all the negative (on Reddit there are a lot) reviews eventually get you removed from this platform. You've become a slime bag requester by refusing to pay workers for the honest work they've done. Karma will visit you one day, I only wish I could see it." "You know, I don't have to worry about the rejections that you've falsely given me...but there are a lot of workers that can be GREATLY IMPACTED by your carelessness. Evidently you don't think that's a big deal, but it surely is. Rejections early in their mturk work can prevent them from even remaining on the platform...did you know that??? If they don't have many hits completed, your wrongful rejections can totally ruin their reputation and rating. Maybe you should think about that before you continue to refuse to correct your own errors that are causing you to reject work that shouldn't be rejected. AND MAKE IT RIGHT BY REVERSING THE REJECTIONS YOU'VE MADE ABOUT DUPLICATES!!! You have no right to wreck people's honest work efforts permanently to save a few dollars. You are in the wrong and you have to know it, so do the right thing and fix it!!!" I just sent the second message now. My concern is that many workers will be impacted by these rejections and that's just WRONG.
I'm in, but I don't know how to proceed. I rarely go on these platforms, but this is so egregious that I had to try and help.
