Smoke detection trials, take 2

Hey guys,

So, haha, the smoke machine wasn't working yesterday. After about 7 hours in the forest trying to fix it (and by fix it I mean standing in the forest, speculating about the theory of combustion engines (we're not mechanics)) we brought it back and decided to have a mechanic take a look at it this morning.

And now it's fixed! At least it should be. Yesterday we drove 80 km down a dirt road to get as close to the tower as possible (20 km) because I wanted an easy, early win. It ended up being a terrible decision because the smoke machine didn't work. Today we're going to start at 70 km (distance from tower), just to make sure the machine is working and then move to 20 km (distance from tower).

The first smoke is going to be incredibly challenging to see. It's going to be going up in about 1.5 hours, if I had to guess, maybe sooner, I'll update live if possible to let you know when we're getting set up. I might not have cell reception though. Super spotty out there.

I'll include some pictures today if everything works. It's a pretty impressive machine.

Again, good luck. For realz though, this first one is going to be really, really tough to see.

Second site, 20 km, tower 5. Smoke go two minutes. No luck first site. 70 km too far. Curvature of earth stuff. Unless you're a flat earther, then unexplained.
