05/22 - Mundane Monday!

I just checked and I got my Amazon verification email on September 7th 2016. I don't think I've seen somebody under 50K hits get masters though.

 

Ours hasn't been

 

The previous algorithm seemed to favor more randomly, perhaps geological location...? I think there might be something to this thought though. Not necessarily high volume as maybe just people who are consistent workers and have had accounts for a certain amount of time. What's different about this round... in my opinion and different from previous ones, is the people who got it actually deserve it. [No offense to those who didn't... I don't mean you don't... just that the what, thousand or so new ones, are people who you wouldn't laugh at being a Master instead of a 'Got it on my 9th day of probation period!' folks.]

Of course, this probably is a glitch... because when do good things happen for Turkers? I just saw a second email from mturk and my heart sank, until I realized it was just a Transfers going through confirmation email.

I'm also in the club of not caring about the HITs but just looking forward to not having a CAPTCHA trip me up in the middle of a hypnotic CI batch. [And typing this, I just realized I only need to check if my queue's full and not if TM's stopped grabbing because I'm CAPTCHA'd. I use @Kadauchi's old clear script, and it's almost ingrained now to hit '-' every few minutes.]

For those compiling some stats and maybe showing some sort of pattern, here are mine:

FWIW to people who didn't get it, it may be about more than numbers since it seems many are trying to go off of just that. In the past, there were guesses that it also included working on specific batches they closely monitored.

I haven't had the internet in a week and a half for more than ten minutes at a time (Thank Comcast) but I couldn't believe my eyes. After three years, I joined the no Captcha club. I cried because I'm a little Grinch.

 

Um, people on FB are reporting they can do masters hits and are still getting captchas.

That's weird.

 

I got a damn captcha.

 

Oops. Also Jan 2016 joined (I think the 6th or so). Inconsistent turker (obvs, with only 55k in 18 months).

 

Probably takes a while for no captchas to take effect.

 

That's funny when I think about how many times I got to 40 hits without a captcha and rushed off to see if I could accept a masters hit.
