Apparently, doing many surveys with the Google Captchas can cause that Google system to classify you as a possible bot, so it slows the captchas down, more and more as you go, adding frustrating delay effects, or making you do the entire captcha several times before it will let you through. The more you do, the worse it can get.

Does connect help with rejections I got my first rejection last night and it was from one of the new accounts with the little acorn or whatever by the name. The provider is not responding to my messages.

 

Connect says:

I'm not an expert advisor on such matters, but:

If it's a researcher from a legitimate university, and if you saved a copy of the study's info sheet or consent form, check and see if it tells how to contact the university's IRB (Institutional Review Board), to find out if they might be able to mediate.

[From this site's wiki: "Many surveys begin by having workers consent to participating in research. For academic researchers usually IRB (Internal Review Board) information will be listed. This information should be saved in case a problem arises with the HIT, survey, or payment after completion.]

If you didn't save the IRB info from the survey, but you know which university, you can try researching online to try to find their IRB.

 

I have batches up but I just booked my first doctor appointment in over a decade (I usually use holistic and/or chiropractors). Bad allergies that are trying to turn into or already have turned into bronchitis and I need to take a bus or plane very soon to get back to Delaware. I should already be there but my medicaid is KY and while I'm here... you know, it'd be sketchy to use it in DE. I so don't want to be the sick person travelling, even if it's not contagious. cross fingers and toes for me that this doctor is cool. He has really good google reviews and I can walk from here. Sadly, it's raining so I get to walk in the rain but it is what it is. I do not want to be in Louisville for Derby. I'm too old for that shitshow... hopefully there is still work when I return.

 

My weakness with research surveys: I return them way too often, because I dislike making guesses at any of the great many things I know nothing about, or in some cases, questions based on such vague information that even a topic expert might struggle to make a meaningful choice. "Just give your best guess": When I have no clue, it seems useless to make a guess that's no better than rolling dice or using a random number generator. I understand that the researchers aim to measure participants' attitudes, and my attitude is that I refuse to answer in such cases, so I hit the return button.

primary care can refer you to an allergist/immunologist. they can do tests to find out what you are allergic to and how much you are allergic to it/them. iirc a person's allergy profile can change every 7-10 years, or when they have travelled to a new region with different plants, building materials, etc.

but you probably already know that because I think you already know what you're allergic to.

PS why would it be bad to use medicaid in deleware? which I am still only sort of convinced that it still exists.

 

I can't comment on kentucky's medicaid program, but in ohio, I am pretty sure the plans are only meant to be used in state, except for emergency services (ER and maybe urgent care).

Cloud Connect has since rejected me, so I cannot do their surveys on their site. Does Cloud Connect send their own researchers and HITs to MTurk since they use Qualtrics?

 

Literally 15m straight of clicking the take part in this study button and receiving a combo of the high demand and limited capacity errors.

 

I think it is more that they help researchers run their surveys through mturk something like a middleman.

 

Did they say why the rejected you?

Personally, I would avoid Prime Research Solutions LLC, aka Turkprime aka CloudResearch aka Connect aka CloudConnect, or whatever they call themselves at the moment. Not only do they use "qualifications" to block workers from their surveys on MTurk, they gather information from other places like Prolific to ban across platforms. Participant pool manipulation seems to be their main game.

Get your numbers up here and get batch work quals. Try Prolific, there's money to be made there.

 

I did a hit on connect that asked me for my prolific ID for payment. not sure if it was an accident or not. I didn't do it!
