04/26 - Spaghetti Saturday

I can follow the steps in the instructional video to review a HIT that I submitted after installing/enabling TVJS. — (Click the TurkerViewJS link in the page header to open the TVJS–Dаshboard, use the date menu if necessary, find the HIT that you submitted after installing/enabling TVJS, and click the red Review button.)

I don't see any way with TVJS to submit a review for a HIT that you submitted before installing/enabling TVJS.

Note:
If you returned the HIT by using the regular Return button, apparently you can't submit a review for it afterward, because the HIT won't be listed in the TVJS–Dаshboard. — To "Review and Return" you'd have to use that button (at the left of the regular Return button) when you are returning the HIT.

 

I usually don't use TVJS, and I don't submit reviews. My completion times are so insanely slow, I was told they would be outside the normal range and therefore not usefully representative.

(Apparently there isn't any problem with speed-demons whose completion times can be so short that it's hard to believe full attention was paid. That type of worker is apparently more welcome than the slow-pokes.)

 

I sometimes forget that the "About you" profile stuff gets updated often on both Prolific and Connect, with new questions being added. I have to remind myself to check back there periodically. — Although it doesn't help me all that much. My feeds remain woefully sparse even after I've answered most of those questions.

 

Some of those "About you" questions might be ambiguous. — Example: Connect has a new one asking about "first generation" status. In my case, that might depend on definition. I'm reading discussions right now, with people disagreeing on definitions. – ("No, you're wrong" – "No YOU'RE wrong" – that type of analysis.) — I'll choose to ignore the question.

 

Some "About you" questions on Connect ask how often you do something – Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly. — Some of those things I do at variable intervals from three to nine months, so Monthly is a bit short and Yearly is a bit long. If I were the genius who wrote those questions, I'd've included a six-months option between Monthly and Yearly.

 

Some of those questions tempt me to fib. — E.g., do I want to do more surveys about product category X that I actually shop for at intervals of around 6 to 8 months? Then I'm tempted to fib by indicating "Monthly" instead of "Yearly" (there's NO other option between). Presumably "Monthly" might get me more than the default frequency of surveys on that topic; "Yearly" might get me fewer.
