Before I finally get back to doing the normal weekly run-down I want to throw something new at folks who weren't here yesterday (how dare you!).

In response to the latest "wow MTurk is unethical don't use it" article at the NYTimes yesterday a bunch of us drafted up a blog post to (hopefully) give requesters a more balanced view of the platform & let them know that it's OK to post work on MTurk since we're not being held against our will (..well, some of you are but that's because I can't let you leave meeee) haha.

I'd LOVE any further feedback, comments, criticism, etc from folks who weren't around. Yesterday folks were mostly throwing out ideas/etc on the thread & that's totally fine (it was pretty fun lol) just tag me in it so I can see it/respond in the AM. DM is also fine if you don't want to post publicly (title it NY Times or something so I know to check ASAP). I think it's high time we stopped having random journalists "speak for us" since at this point they all seem to say the same thing (weird.. almost like just blindly bashing on Amazon generates page clicks & that's all they care about).

So there it is. It'll likely go live on the site & SM channels today ~10:30AM EST. Sorry for the short notice, I'll probably do the same thing for similar posts that go up & hopefully be able to collect wider feedback but this is pretty time sensitive and it was a bit spur of the moment to begin with :flail: now the fun stuff

wtf man, I make $9.89 an hour, and that's my adjusted hourly. Looks like someone was transcribing receipts for Panel. (He actually did a bunch of really hard batches.)

i doubt its 4 percent, an article that came out years ago said less than 1 and that is when wages were higher.

 

Weird to think how turk is less lucrative today than it was say 4 years ago, crowd sourcing should be increasing not going down.
