Yea, @clickhappier has a ton of info for people who want to dive deeper into it.

My plan is simplicity. Type the number Amazon says into TurboTax and go with that.

Also I never considered that if a turker were to get audited, there isn't any sort of log of when hits were approved. So counting hits on the day they were submitted* is the only feasible option.

*I guess it would actually be on the day the hit is accepted since that's how it's shown on the dashboard but that's definitely going against my simplicity strategy.

And before someone chimes in about rejections - either wait until all 2017 hits have been approved or file an amended return to get your 14 cents back

This is also why unless you're doing something incredibly stupid worrying over it is mostly pointless. Even if you RNG an audit the IRS isn't going to split hairs over approved vs paid if you just hand them Amazon's dashboard #s and say "if its wrong, there's your billion dollar payment processor to fine versus garnishing my $10/day in pennies"

 

And don't forget the daily cost use of garnishing those pennies is dimes

For those who had done the Bill hit, how long did you wait between installing the app and the survey popping up? I feel like I've done something wrong.

 

You mean initially doing the HIT? You can go under the Surveys part of the app, and the Wellbeing survey should be there. Then there's follow-ups throughout the next 6 months.

I have nothing under Surveys. The HIT does say to wait a few minutes for a notification, but it's been quite the chunk of time.

 

Yeah, it did take a couple of minutes initially. Did you try going under Studies on the app, then clicking Android Mobile Study? Other than that, not sure. Maybe keep waiting a bit and make sure you advance the survey where it tells you to.
